I love that my mum's a hairdresser, I can get exactly what I want without the price to match and now I could never imagine having to pay for it! On the weekend I had the back of my head shaved off completely to provide a higher contrast with the swept hair at the front as previously it had been styled into a triangular shape at the back, it wasn't great though so I decided to get rid of it. My fringe is sometimes very frustrating to get right and I wish I could find a solution that would provide volume that didn't involve so much hairspray, I've tried a sneaky hair clip to no avail but for the last few years I've never had simple hairstyles so it's my own fault really! I used to dye my hair purple or blue, sometimes black or streaks of blond, though haven't done so since early/mid 2010 though I've been considering a lighter brown but will probably just keep it natural. Also pictured, a denim shirt from New Look and a cardigan from River Island that are both past sale items as is most of my current rotation, I think I could count what I've bought full price in the last 3 years (ish) on one hand, excluding jewellery perhaps. Below is a collection of hairstyles I've had in past few years, top left - autumn 2009, top right - spring 2010, bottom left - late spring 2010, bottom right - winter 2010. Predominantly, I've used Lisbon's Wip-Hairport for inspiration as so many of the styles they create are truly amazing, I've yet to copy one entirely though!
As for outfits, I've taken photos of those I've put together recently and I may have included myself in these photos if it wasn't for a foolish dose of sunburn I acquired this week. The first image is a monochrome outfit that I wore out to a club, I received the cardigan for Christmas from my Mum and I have no idea where it's from but it was a great gift that gets much use! Pinned to the cardigan is an eagle brooch (part of a pair) from New Look, as is the shirt and what I like the most about it is the contrast of block white with black line when combined with the cardigan's reverse design, also note the bulldog on the interior! The shoes are from Burton but my favourite part is the coin bracelet, a gift from my Mum's neighbour and long term family friend Jean.
Big cats was the theme of this outfit! I love animal print, especially grey as that's currently my favourite colour, so I decided to double up with it. The cardigan is from River Island, I wore it to my graduation and the night out that followed and it's one of my favourite items in my wardrobe by far! The other part of the leopard print duo is from Primark, occasionally their t shirts do surprise me as did TK Maxx when I found those gold Gola shoes for £7. The necklace was not a highstreet find but instead from a stall in Brick Lane, always a fan of animal themed laser cut acrylic jewellery and I had planned to create some myself but unfortunately it never happened. Also, the reason I haven't posted any trousers so far is due to wearing pretty much the same pair of jeans most of the time, ideally I would adore some grey leopard print trousers!
Finally I've posted what I wore yesterday, the first day so far I've still been hot with just one layer on outside! The sunglasses are from Primark, I've wanted tortoiseshell style for a while now but for some reason never bought any though I suppose you could call me slightly hypocritical due to my Uni project raising awareness of the continuing Tortoiseshell (Bekko) trade, it's safe to say Primark wouldn't incorporate a hint of the real material however and in my opinion animal influenced clothing is the best kind. In the River Island sale I found this t shirt which is limited edition by Me&Yu, I have another design too also involving animals. The bag is also from River Island and unfortunately not in the sale but I had no choice, my previous bag had broken! Finally the necklace, I can't remember where it's from but I'm guessing Topman much like the majority of my jewellery!
