One of my favourite musicians in existence is Sainkho Namtchylak, a throat singer from Tuva, which is part of Russia and borders Mongolia. I found out about her due to my interest in tribal culture and Shamanism, which links back to my love of animals and nature. Often getting bored with Western vocals, I research into the various other sounds and tones of the human voice that are on offer throughout the world. Sainkho is definitely an acquired taste but her voice is so otherworldly, ranging from demonic to ethereal but can sing to Western standards too. Below is a link to one of her live performances and I'm still not sure what song it is, despite listening to six of her albums, but it definitely depicts her vocal range. Anyway, you are the Shaman of your life!
Unfortunately I couldn't embed the video above so I added my favourite Sainkho song too. I particularly enjoy how her voice is used as an instrument almost, so distinctly different to what the human voice normally sounds like.
